Now, we don’t know who will win next year’s presidential election. But 
the odds are that one of these years the world’s greatest nation will 
find itself ruled by a party that is aggressively anti-science, indeed 
anti-knowledge. And, in a time of severe challenges — environmental, 
economic, and more — that’s a terrifying prospect.

The above statements are characteristic of a country under theocratic 
rule. Theocracies thrive by keeping people uneducated, misinformed, and 
subservient, (eg a congregation that will follow in blind faith).

Texas Governor Rick Perry is in bed with big oil companies, who want to 
discredit global warming in support of continuing with an economy 
dependent on petroleum. Burning petroleum is one of the major causes of 
the green house gas CO2. I've got two words for you: Scary Perry LOL
