Mike, Sage advice has been given here...but if you do decide to venture forth, be sure you charge a hefty rate. And then add a bumper. Dynamics will either make your ulcers worse, or give them if you don't already have. It's not un-doable, just not a pleasant experience in any sense.

Seriously, you need a strong constitution to get stuck into that software. It is definitely a total mish-mash of other produts and M$ took the bad bits from all of them. Personally I'd prefer to gouge my eyes out with hot sticks... After an initial evaluation and a recommendation from elsewhere I dismissed it totally despite the fact that it would have cost nothing, being available on our MSDN licence. Babcock, MCP Sent: 13 October 2011 19:29 To: ProFox Email List Subject: [NF] Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software We're making some proposals to a client about their need for an accounting software that uses our data along with their inputs. One option is us custom building an app to run at their site; another option is for us to modify an existing app that runs here at our shop and they send us periodic data and we in turn return reports to them; and the last option is them using Microsoft Dynamics GP with its Payable and Receivable Management modules. M$ Dynamic GP costs $25,000 plus $25,000 for installation/training plus moderate licensing fees& maintenance costs. I wanted to solicit comments on others experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
