Right. It will not only require the help of professionals, but based on what I've seen in the TV episodes of "Hoarding", having the hoarder agree to be helped also requires some kind of immediate, pressing crisis, like threat of eviction by a landlord, removal of kids from the house by protective services, tickets requiring the payment of fines for violation of city ordinances, and jail time, (eg 90 days), if conditions continue unattended, etc. Still, even with a crisis and professional help, most hoarders will fail; although, based on the TV series most avoid the immediate threat. In the TV series a professional cleaning crew is brought in with large trucks to clean up the mess over a two or three day period, while the hoarder; although given the final say, is helped by mental health professional that specialize in things like ADHD/Hoarding, etc. The degree/level of the hoarding disorder varies from individual to individual. My wife's condition is not nearly as sever as those featured in the TV series of "Hoarding", which are almost always level 5 hoarders. It is estimated there are 3 to 6 million hoarders around the world. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10336/1107340-55.stm Regards, Leland J > Michael Oke, II > [email protected] > > On Oct 27, 2011, at 7:37 PM, lelandj<[email protected]> wrote: > >> On 10/27/2011 06:11 PM, Pete Theisen wrote: >>> lelandj wrote: >>>> On 10/27/2011 04:19 PM, Pete Theisen wrote: >>>>> Nicholas Geti wrote: >>>>>> I think he has dyslexia. >>>>> Hi Nicholas, >>>>> >>>>> When you think of the hundreds of millions he has made with his FoxPro >>>>> accounting program he is still using that $8 spell checker. >>>> You had better check your source of information on that, or re-add your >>>> figures.
