The nomination of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court was a brilliant move by President Bush, the father. Clarence Thomas has be an unwavering supporter of the conservative, right wing interpretation of the Constitution, and as it turns out, based on his judicial leanings, is a member in good standing of the "Old Order", which he condemned below. LOL He has definitely been a torn in the side of progressives, like me, that see the constitution as a living, breathing, evolving document.
Clarence Thomas' rebuke of allegations of sexual harassment, found in the excerpt below, was also brilliant, and probably the main reason he survived the Senate confirmation hearings to win appointment to the beach. Candidate Herman Cain will likely also need an equivalent brilliant response to win nomination to become the Republican candidate for president, but I put the odd heavily against him.
