Agreed, I start from the bias of living in a reasonably open society. But I very much doubt if striking anonymous blows for freedom is any part of the motivation of these folks, and besides, real revolutions occur when people stand up and declare their opposition. While it might be of marginal help, I don't think many dictatorships have been toppled by anonymous emails. (Maybe a couple have been crippled by Spam?)
