Whereas as a VAR for Toshiba TEC I'd recommend their products as good value,
reliable and work well on thermal paper removing the need for ribbons.

Speed, quality of paper and whether you are working with a ribbon affect the
head life, and printer heads for all thermal printers are expensive, just make
sure you get the resolution you need and don't pay for a super doper head when
it's not needed..

$0.02..

Definitely Zebra... 9-10" per second and heavy duty.

However don't think about replacing the thermal head when it eventually wears
out as a new printer is about the same price. We have ours running 24/7 and
replace the whole printer about every 18 months when the head shows
deterioration. You can reduce the speed to conserve head life as the wearing
out is due entirely to heat damage.

Subject: [NF] Label Printer recommendations

Client is looking for a label printer to print USPS, UPS and FEDEX labels.
Does anybody have some recommendations on what to buy and what not to buy based
on price and reliability.
