Whil, this may just be one of those rare cases where it's not you.

I started to think about what the OP was asking, but gave up.

Two years, five months and -1 days ago, I wrote "Why I Don't Answer
Your Questions"

for exactly this reason. The O-poster expects us to intuit, through
mangled fragments of sentences, what it is he intends to do, what the
customer is doing, which brand of network cards they use, and all the
other details that might help us actually answer the question. It's
just not worth the effort to me any more.

All posters should put themselves in the place of others and ask "if I
needed to answer this question, what else would I need to know?"
rather than post the same old "how do I print?" question that has no
answer. No doubt the OP was in a rush, but the message is that they
value their time more than ours. I hold a divergent opinion.

Instead, the post might read (and I'm just guessing):

"It's time for me to deploy my first VFP application that uses MySQL
as the backend, where the client will be hosting the MySQL database.
The client has installed the database on one of their machines, and I
intend to install my app and MyODBC on each of the machines that will
use my application. My application uses DSN-less ODBC connections, so
I think all I need to do is substitute the Host IP address in the
string I submit to SQLStringConnect() in the VFP application. Is that
right or do I need to do anything else?"

Or maybe he's asking if there is a way to automatically create ODBC
DSNs on client machines.

But I don't know.

That's too hard to chase down. Let's stick with the easy questions
where we can say "Hackers Guide, page 397" or "Fundamentals, chapter
6"

Maybe we should see if someone would actually *pay* us to answer these
questions, since they make it so hard for us to do so.

Never mind!
