Depending on the card company, just because a vendor has an old expiration
date, they  may still let the charge go through.  We had that happen on an
online gaming account my son used.  He didn't let us know he was no longer
playing the game and they charged us for over 2 years. after the card
expiration.  The credit card company wouldn't do anything about it.
