How about OpenDNS? (http://www.opendns.com/) They have Home edition
which is free.

As of about 3-4 years ago I've heard:

a) good things about the unit/service and the job it does. People seem
to love it.

b) I don't want to start ugly rumors, but IIRC it's been said that
Baracuda might be a little quick to black list domains, and oh guess
what you have to go to their site to un-blacklist them. And they offer a
paid service to get your domain off their list. Seemed a bit fishy...
