Some other developers and I wrote an app years ago that did some
pretty intensive Outlook automation including custom Outlook templates
and invoking VFP COM objects from within Outlook via VBA. I've also
written event sink COM objects (again in VFP) and registered them (via
VBS) within an Exchange server. In some MS-centric organizations, this
is the only way to automate mail processing.

I do not think that you can ASSuME that IMAP nor POP nor SMTP is
available from an Exchange server. I think you can lock it down to
being MAPI only.
