And at the end of that testing you obviously settled on sql passthrough since remote views are totally borked, right? ;) Just like everything in life you gotta weigh each input and use your own brain to settle on a comfortable answer for you. Consensus in a trusted community carries a lot of weight but it isn't necessarily "truth" in your situation. I happen to think remote views suck, but maybe I was just doing it wrong.
