Hey there Ted,
So - FYI - before I post my question - I actually try a BUNCH of different
stuff to see if I can find the problem resolution! Additionally - my boss is
dropping a lot of pressure on my shoulders. He just started up this new co.
- after being layed off last Nov. - 2 weeks after I was CANned (actually
-just layed off)! Then, ALL his old Customers were Thrown out at the end of
the year (2012). So - he started this new co. to support those clients. But,
then, only like 3 weeks after I started working here - he starts whining
that UNLESS he has NEW SW to Sell - he can't Grow the Business - must less
continue to meet Monthly Expenses!
As such - there's all this pressure on me to produce. And, it was actually
my idea to create this utility to convert the old DOS-like system - which is
a big system w/Hundreds of programs. The old conversion method - it would
take several YEARS to convert the whole system. And - we are talking only
the BASE system - not all the Client Customized systems. But, with my Tool -
I think its possible to cut down a 2-year Dev. Time to like 6-months!
Therefore - I just keep trying to push forwards on this whole thing as FAST
as I possibly can! And, that's why - when I get stuck - I try a BUNCH of
attempts to resolve a problem - then I hit the List up here for advice!
So - what the HECK is this Cargo Cult thing? What - am I too young to know
the meaning - as opposed to you old Geezers on the list here? But, alas -
I'm not young by ANY Stretch of the imagination! Well - U need not bother
with an Explaination - since, as a Young Whipper Snapper like me - who
easily depends on the Web for All answers - I just turned to the Wiki:
" A cargo cult is a religious practice that has appeared in many
traditional pre-industrial tribal societies in the wake of interaction with
technologically advanced cultures. The cults focus on obtaining the material
wealth (the "cargo") of the advanced culture through magic and religious
rituals and practices. Cult members believe that the wealth was intended for
them by their deities and ancestors. "
Ouch Ted - I gotta say - that hurt - like a Stab to the Heart...
:-)
-K-

Let's not go all Cargo Cult, here. You've got the tools to figure this out.
Use a copy (a copy!) of a form, grab the memo field into a string, and loop
through the string, printing out the ASCII value of each character. See
what the delimiters are.
