Try checking Lock the Taskbar, and see if that makes it stick.
Back with 17" monitors autohiding was a great help, with a large screen
it's just one more thing to chase, so I don't do it any more. Never
seen the problem you're describing, though. Sounds like it could be
palm dragging over the touchpad. (I hate laptops!)
