Let me explain this better. My client's customer sent him an Excel sheet to load data. Every month the format is different. I have been asking them to please sent the data the same every month. The knuckleheads build it from scratch instead of automating it. Every month I bill my client for altering the mapping program to take their data and put it into our system. So my client isn't happy paying me every month for something that should be the same every month. Each month the columns are different, different headers, different locations, etc.
Along with this program the data within the cells are crap, fields delimited in each cell with | and : and other nonsense. So this time they sent some of the columns as hidden. Sorry, but in 30 years I've never received a data upload with hidden columns, so it didn't even occur to me that was the problem. So my client keeps telling me to reject the data until they get it right, so we sent it back. They sent us an email saying it is the correct format, just that some columns are hidden. Well to me that means I'TS NOT IN THE SAME FORMAT, but my client is giving me shit that I should have seen that before I complained and made him look bad.
