I scan documents for backup to tax returns using Ubuntu and it is
perfect for my needs as I have total control over the saving of the pdf.
We were looking for the same sort of solution for the Mac and Image
Control is basically the same application and works great.
Funniest thing, my HP scanner printer will not work with Widows but
works perfectly with Ubuntu. It's been a long time, but I get a "must
upgrade the software to scan" and a "can't upgrade because it won't
recognize the scanner" or something to that affect.
