I used to fill trucks and box cars with appliances when I worked for GE. I did it manually based on charts they provided. Any empty spots were filled with baffles by the loaders. Probably easier than what you are looking at because our products were limited in number.

Evening all,
Has anyone come across any code for working out efficient loading of shipping
containers with various sizes of packages? I can easily work out the total
volume of the packages and compare to the space available, but this doesn't
take into account how they all fit together. I guess this is a science in its
own right but hope there is some clever person who has tackled this before in
VFP.
