The wireless link is no different to a fixed cable link to the operating system and the answer about increased throughput is No.
In order to get more bandwidth from two internet connections you need to do what is called "pairing" and that is a function of high end routers. Usually the delay on the wireless means that the ethernet connection is the first to connect but this isn't always true as it depends on the speed with which the DHCP server dispenses IP addresses. If the two cards are on separate networks then you end up with 2 x ip addresses, similar to if you assign an additional ip address to a cable connected card and requests will be routed to both networks.
