I went through a couple of versions of Mint. It was pretty good on an old laptop. Certainly looks great. The only major issue I had was that you can't do in-place major version upgrades, you have to back up to external HDD, clean install, and restore. Well, fugg that. It's 2013. Went to OpenSUSE to see what things were like in the non-Debian world. > it's the best desktop operating system of all. It might well be on paper. So might OS/2, NeXT, AmigaOS and so on. This means very little, in the business world at least, if the general purpose applications that most businesses of any size use from day to day don't exist, and they largely don't. There's also a reason people still use MS Office, Exchange, Photoshop et al and put up with the crap that they have to put up with (see Adobe's new cloud-only model), and that's because they work well and integrate well. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/1369382857.10391.140661235097185.78305...@webmail.messagingengine.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
