There were three printers on the lpt port. Two of them were laser printers. I deleted them leaving the generic text and it now works fine.

Funny thing is that I have never had the two printers.

Thanks Ted!

I have an application that prints to a dot matrix. It has been working
fine for years. I was asked to reset his spare printer to factory
defaults.

What brand/model of printer?

Was it working before?

Why were you asked to reset it?

Okidata Microline 380. I don't know what it was doing exactly. I called him to ask. I believe the formatting was off so it wouldn't print his invoices correctly.

I did so and it started printing what looks like the contents of ROM.

How did you "do so?"

Unplug the printer cable from the printer and confirm it is self-generating
the printout and not getting some gobbledegook from the network.

It has printed about 50 pages and turning it off does not stop the job.

Darn, my favorite fix!

The printing is coming from the computer. Disconnecting the cable stops the printing. Yeah!

Also the job does not appear with the printer in the Printers & Faxes
window.

I suspect you've either: put the printer in a debug/core dump mode, or you
broke it but good.

Wassup? How can I stop this? Also, Google was not so friendly on this
one.

Can you put it back the way it was? Un-reset the printer? Was it DIP
switches you changed or something else?

I deleted the printer so what ever it is is coming from lpt1. I don't see anything in taskmanager that could be sending that.

The print out says:
PJL Enter Language = POSTSCRIPT
