Our contribution for this one was $150, and we give what we can to the
candidates we like each election cycle. It does not matter that we don't
know anyone. The point was to meet the candidate and meet other new people.
We got to do that, and it went well. We had a good time.

We like it when our representatives know us on sight. It helps when we can
walk up to them at a chamber of commerce function or a fundraiser and talk
to them about what concerns us. It also helps to network with others that
are there. I'd think that in your line of work you'd want to have the ear of
your representatives. If you're not going to at least some of the less
expensive functions where you can meet them, then you're missing out.

Frankly, you'd probably do a lot better with your clinic if you had a few
democratic friends with open pocketbooks that could write donor checks.
