Thanks for your help We just upgraded to the business version of Carbonite. Previously we would copy everything from the server to a computer and have that backup. There was never a problem because those were copies of files and not live files
Now we backup from the NAS directly, which much be locking it when it thinks there's a change. Although it's never happened during business hours before, it must have just happened now. Although the new version has been being used for well over a month, I guess it's random as to when it's going to lock something. So now I've told Carbonite not to backup from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM ________________________________ From: Alan Bourke <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, June 24, 2013 10:09 AM Subject: Re: Cannot write to a read-only file On Mon, Jun 24, 2013, at 02:40 PM, Michael Madigan wrote: > All of a sudden we are getting this error on two separate programs with > two databases. > > Did something change recently with windows updates? > > Is it possible that Carbonite is locking the file, even though it's never > happened before? > > I have certainly seen online backup clients do this, specifically in a case where it 'queued' files for upload. I would be dubious as to the value of these with VFP data anyway, especially when the data is spread over many DBF files. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://mail.leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/1372082949.346.140661247814714.1ed9e...@webmail.messagingengine.com ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
