Thanks for your help

We just upgraded to the business version of Carbonite.  Previously we would 
copy everything from the server to a computer and have that backup.  There was 
never a problem because those were copies of files and not live files

Now we backup from the NAS directly, which much be locking it when it thinks 
there's a change.  Although it's never happened during business hours before, 
it must have just happened now.  

Although the new version has been being used for well over a month, I guess 
it's random as to when it's going to lock something.  

So now I've told Carbonite not to backup from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

I have certainly seen online backup clients do this, specifically in a
case where it 'queued' files for upload.

I would be dubious as to the value of these with VFP data anyway,
especially when the data is spread over many DBF files.
