Ted: I created a second executable with a different name. I can
run each
of them separately with no problem. When you open up a second
version it
flashes the VFP screen before it reads the config.fpw with
screen=off. So
it is not even starting. I suspect it has something to do with the run
time.
So, is CONFIG.FPW built into the EXE or is it a standalone file on disk?
And are both of the EXEs reading the same file off disk? That could
be the
bottleneck.
I have had my applications running on servers & terminal servers for
years
with no issues. Here I am using TSPlus with is running on Windows 7.
So, is that the key thing different between this and other setups?
Ted: Config.fpw is built into the executable on this one. On my
applications known to work on servers, config.fpw is not built into
the application and is external. That appears to be the opposite of
your theory. That is the only difference other than TSPlus is a
(really cool) program that allows multiple users on a non-server os.
I rebooted the server and the drive is encrypted so I can't work on it
until the morning. Oh well, I'll just go out and enjoy our monsoon
rain with my Sweetie Pie and an adult beverage! ;^)
Thanks,
Jeff
I created a folder for each user with the executable in it and they all
point to the same data files. It turns out this is a better setup
anyway because each user has a "todo" table which are unique to the
user. Three users logged in remotely using Remote Desktop no problem.
So far so good with TSPlus!
