Howard:

Welcome!

Asking a question can be tricky. Let us know:

1. What your environment is: the computer, memory, network, operating
system version (essential!), the FoxPro version (ditto),

2. What you have done (if you can simplify it to a few lines of code,
others can test it, too!). Added bonus if you add a few lines of code to
CREATE the table and INSERT it with the data that shows your symptoms.

3. What you expected to see and what you saw and why you think that's wrong.

4. Whether you have tested it repeatedly, on different computers, rebooted
the computer (that fixes too many glitches!)

5. As many relevant details as you can supply. Imagine explaining this to
a colleague who's unfamiliar with your application and environment. Don't
assume we'll assume you mean FoxPro 2.5a Windows on Windows 7 64-bit!

One thing you will find is, in the process of laying out what you've done
and what happens and simple code to reproduce it, is you'll find the answer
to your question. Happens to me all the time!

A wonderful essay on how to ask the question that gets you the answer that
you want is:

ProTip: Never, never, ever ask a question in the form: "Has anyone ever
seen Error 1437?" The only correct answer to that is "Yes" and no one's the
wiser.

Be humble. Assume you're doing something wrong. In 99.999% of the cases,
you are. I know that rule works for me!

Turn off the computer and turn it on again. PACK the troublesome files, or
the entire project. Try it again. Make sure it's plugged in. Make sure it's
turned on. Make sure the little light on the front is glowing. You'll
eliminate most of the embarrassing questions I've asked right there.
