Malcolm, you'll enjoy it.

I suggest looking at "Path Finder" as a replacement for finder as Finder is in
my opinion a weak link in OSX despite the new Mavericks improvements .... which
I loaded over the weekend but it lasted a day as it was so slow compared with
Mountain Lion on my Late 2011 13" Macbook with 16Gb. Evidently there are some
updates in the pipeline to resolve the speed problems so I may take a look when
they are released.

Subject: Re: [NF] Considering a MacBook Air or Pro - looking for advice

For those of you wondering how this story turned out ...

I chose to go with a 13" MacBook Pro Retina with 8 Gb RAM/512 Gb SSD. I was
torn between the lighter Air and a maxed out 15" MacBook, and made my choice on
the mid-point.

I chose the MacBook Pro over the Air for the Retina display and full set of
ports with the tradeoffs being a 1/2 pound additional weight and 3 hours less
battery life.

I chose the 13" MacBook Pro over a maxed out 15" version for the smaller size
and lighter weight with the tradeoff being 8 Gb less RAM (than the max 16 Gb).
For the times I need more memory, I will remote into one of my servers.

Thanks to all that replied!

Mal
