I find TBird to be quite capable and worthy of use.
Yes, it does get a little "numb-brained" (unresponsive) when receiving
email, especially large Qs and email with attachments. I assume it isn't
multi-threaded?
But I've got clients with, literally THOUSANDS (21,000+) emails in their
inbox and they keep on trucking.
My acid test for an application is "no loss of data" and "features do
what they are supposed to." If it also has issues with getting sludgy
when it is busy, well, that can be as much the fault of supporting
structures (network, OS) as the application itself. I mean, I don't have
any other email application to compare it against.
I especially like the calendar add-on...very capable.

I had used Thunderbird in the past, but I saw some comments here recently
that said the latest version wasn't too great (kinda clunky or cluttered?)
and so I wanted to poll the list to see what's popular in terms of an IMAP
email client.
Thanks,
