Malcolm: I use http://www.code42.com/crashplan/. Like you I looked at a lot. I also read the comparisons. I have been using this for about two years. Works fine and I can get my files when I need them easily.

I'm overwhelmed with the options for cloud storage and backup. Anyone
have a favorite service they would like to recommend or a service to

Over the years I've used rsync.net (thanks Ted!), Box.net, and
Dropbox.

Anyone have any experience with Amazon S3, Rackspace CloudFiles, Google
Drive(?), Microsoft Skydrive, or Apple iCloud? My understanding is that
Amazon and Rackspace offerings are more tailored for hosted solutions
(CDN, replication, etc), while Google, Microsoft, and Apple solutions
are more consumer services.

I have no experience with any of the backup services like Carbonite or
BackBlaze.

Appreciate your advice/experiences.

Thanks!
