Now I'm impressed.

I had found it on a historical site last night and was going to order a
reproduction.

Not even going to ask how you did that, but if you look in the lower right
hand corner, above the "S" and one row to the left, you will see a "section"
bought by J.H. Parker (my ancestor) <to the left of block 616>
The rumor mongers tell me he owned 12,000 to 30,000 acres at one time or
another and I'm going to put together these maps as I find them for
reference.

What is interesting in this one is that it shows his property was on grays
branch creek
And the map 20 years later doesn't show the creek at all

I had always thought the original homestead was to the north of the little
devils river, but via the map I'm able to prove that it actually was to the
south and if this comes through properly, near the creek in this picture in
tract 4737

https://propaccess.trueautomation.com/Map/View/Map/79/11506/2014

I can kind of tell where the original homestead might have been, so now I'm
going to try and hitch a ride on a helicopter to scope it out, or possibly
get permission from the current land owner to check it out

Thanks,

Virgil

Virgil,
Download it from my dropbox in JPG format so anything will read/print it:

I've been messing with it all morning.

I'm willing to buy a plotter if that will help me to print it out full size,
but at this point everything I have thrown against it doesn't work.

GIMP will allow me to view it, but when you attempt to zoom in and read the
land owners name, it gets too blurry

Thanks,
