What are they offering besides a "listening" that they can end any time they want to? What are they offering, that we don't already have, that might justify the expense of moving back and the risk that they once again stop listening some time in the future?

I have noticed businesses listening in the past. Too many times, that is all they do. You are given an opportunity to state your grievance, and then they have other customers to help. Listening without action is a waste of time.
