Wes, What device are you talking about? Do you have a link to it? As for Windows 8 tablets. There have been two flavors. Windows 8 RT and Windows 8. The Windows 8 RT doesn't have a desktop. If this device you are talking about has a desktop and notepad that opens in a window, yes. Otherwise, you need to look for a new device.
