It may also be worth googling Apple AirPlay. This allows iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks to wirelessly connect to large screen TVs that have a $100 AppleTV device attached. Considering the cost of some of the AV equipment I've seen, it may be cheaper to purchase a MacBook or 2 and a few iPads than dedicated AV equipment. If you have to display Windows stuff, run a VM on your MacBook. I share your interest and will be tracking this thread. Good luck!
