Thank you for the link Fernando... I think this will be most useful as we are
just beginning our migration to full source control. In fact I think it was
myself that opened the thread you talked about.

Subject: Source Code Version Control

Hi:

I've read this thread <http://leafe.com/archives/full_thread/498154> late (same
title, 2 months ago), but hope not too late.

>From time to time I read that some people keep using old tools which

not take advantage of old or modern SCM/DVCS tools.

In this case, I see that some people keep using TwoFox for converting tables to
XML (I've used it back in 2009), and I ask myself why having tools that can
convert VFP 9 binaries to prg-style programs, can someone stay with XMLs, that
have nothing to do with VFP programming or VFP code.

I think that this is just a problem of don't knowing the available options, and
to bring some help on the matter I want you to know that from the end of 2013
there is a new tool that replace SccText/X and TwoFox, called FoxBin2Prg and
hosted on VFPx:

https://vfpx.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=FoxBin2Prg

There is documentation available on the link I've provided to explain and show
why you should be using it. As far I can tell, this is the only tool that can
convert forms, classes, menus, reports, labels, tables and databases to text,
allowing their modification, and regenerate the binaries again.

This means that you can not only Diff, but Merge text files viewing them as if
you coded in prgs.

Right now there are people using this two-way conversion tool with SourceSafe,
git, PlasticSCM and some others, and in the last version (thanks to people
advice and ideas), there is an enhanced API that allow you make your own
processes.

Hope you can take a look and find it useful,

Fernando D. Bozzo
