At least they can be debugged which is more than a vfp dll can. That really
is a bugbear. Imagine a macro in an inlist in a dll on a website. And I
thought programming was getting to the 21st century :)
I do agree with you, use sparingly when nothing else will do, well easy
anyway.

Used sparingly, macros are very useful. Their disadvantage is that they
make debugging almost impossible, as your INLIST problem demonstrates.
