As a professional you chose to use the home version. I think the fault
lies with you. That is the most striped down in features correct?

No, I did not choose to use the Home Edition. It was what was
preinstalled on the laptop. I did not know that XP Mode did not run
on the Home edition. Microsoft made XP Mode not work on the Home
Edition; that took special effort on their part. Dealing with
Microsoft has definitely gotten to be real minefield.
Oh, and since it is my fault, I must be the reason that
Microsoft discontinued VFP. So pile on me, everyone.
Or consider the possibility that Microsoft has some
responsibility for what they do.
