Hi Gary,

Following a link may validate the email address. So I headed over to the Bing 
privacy statement. 
http://www.microsoft.com/privacystatement/en-us/bingandmsn/default.aspx

It doesn't mention Xbox or Skype directly. It was updated in March. That is 
here in the U.S.. Do some investigation to see if it different for your country 
of origin.
