Laurie,
It sounds like an "on demand backup" or anti-virus program is preventing
opening the compiled APP to turn it into an EXE.

Kurt,
The only time I've needed to compile with Administrative rights in VFP 7 is
when there is a class with OlePublic set.
Right click the project, select Project Info, then the Servers tab. If that
tab shows information you have a class flagged as OlePublic. You have COM
access in to the application.
