I have several customers using virtual servers with varied results. What I
am looking for (for a customer) is a virtual windows server that will
support 100 users in 30 states. They are using West Wind Web Connection
for access from the remote states. They have my desktop application
working in the home office in Tennessee with about 25 users (included in
the 100).

Many of the server companies have not allowed me to access the system
remotely. I have to send them instructions on what to do and they rarely
do it correctly.

Consider the cloud? Well probably won't work in a cloud environment.
Other option is to consider buying your own server and hosting it where you
want, PHX or some other town if you can get it cheaper after freight.
Rackspace may be just the perfect fit for you to rent a machine from.

Another idea is to revamp the application to one that will be cloud capable
going forward. Granted that is a rewrite but sounds like one that might be
a good business decision if you ever consider selling your business for
retirement. Nobody will buy a fixer upper in the IT space. Just a
thought.
Steve: This is a mature application installed in quite a few environments. I have not interest in re-writing it. The Rack Space suggestion is more like I am looking for. I want to use a service provider and don't want to do any of this myself.

My tag line is "I work with people, not computers." ;^)
