Andy, Teamviewer allows you private use but if you start to use it to more than one site on a regular basis they lock you out.
Personally I use "Splashtop Business" which is a yearly subscription of about £40 per annum so quite reasonable for unlimited access out to any number of client machines and easy install on the client machine - (one click from either a link or an email attachment). Only thing missing is file transfer (Promised for later this year) and/or drag/drop from the session onto your local desktop. Personally I use Dropbox for that anyway. Nice thing is it very quick, the host can run on iPad, Android as well as OSX and even iPhone although the remote client is limited to Windows. It also supports twin screens at the client end. This is basically an ad for LogmeIn - I used them for years BUT they no longer have a free option - as others have reported here before. My free subscription just ran out - I must be one of the last. There is no reasonably priced replacement, which is very very sad - I've got an ssh tunnel set up to a nas but just occasionally, when a power outage manages to put the router into cripple mode, the only way out was to LogmeIn to an XP pc and reboot the router from there. I suppose I'll just have to open the router to the net via keyless ssh - which I have refused to do for years. On 10/12/2015 04:25, [email protected] wrote: > Found this article interesting.
