Being Australian we have no cultural sensitivities to slavery, but to be
honest, master/slave works perfectly and was the reason it was used in the
first place. From my perspective, I simply dont get the problem other than
the growing problem with political correctness. What is going to happen
when electricians need to no longer use male and female plugs and how on
earth do we include transexual plugs?

Subject: Alternatives to Master and Slave Terminology Redux

Dear Vixens and Reynards:

I realise that it is Friday afternoon, but I work then, too.

I really do want some terminology that is accurate, minimally
offensive, and that does not sound stupid.

Have another look at my use case:

   2) The second one is puzzling me. I have forms with an (often) key
portion (master) and a non-key portion (slave). "key" and "non-key" are
awkward and do not communicate well to a non-IT person. "parent" and
"child" is not accurate. What do you suggest?

Sincerely,

Gene Wirchenko
