Certainly, there's an abandonware
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware) issue. MS has officially
ended whatever support they provided for VFP. They don't want the
liability of supporting it, they want everyone to code in DotNet and
move their apps to "the cloud."

"Obtaining" the installer really isn't an issue; I'm sure there's lots
of ways to do that.

I'm surprised MS hasn't found a way to "monetize" (eww!) this long
tail of the market. I have to think their lawyers have found there are
too many "implied warranties of fitness" or somesuch that they can't
just provide a serial number and download with some "USE AT YOUR OWN
RISK" disclaimer for $250.
