I third the suggestion to use a Print Server. I also purchased a few
external Print Servers (to test various brands) for both parallel and USB
interfaced printers. They have proven to be an excellent investment. Many
higher end printers, and some SOHO printers, no include an Ethernet port
with an internal Print Server. It takes the mystery out of whether an
external, third party Print Server will work or not, as there are some cases
where even newer printers (and especially multi-functions machines) will not
work with an external Print Server - despite claims to the contrary.
