Hi Ken, I may have been one of those cheerleaders that steered you to Webfaction. Webfaction was great back in the day, but over the past few years they seemed to coast on their success. I'm no fan of GoDaddy - if they're the new owner, then Webfaction is doomed.
Like Tracy, I've heard good things about Digital Ocean. Amazon AWS also offers a competitively priced Webfaction equivalent called Lightsail. Let us know who you finally end up with.
