Just because one invented something doesn't mean that anyone uses it. 
Attempting the preposterous and lame use of tabs in lieu of spaces being 
an extremely spot-on example.

And the USPTO requires that an invention be USEFUL.

So, yes, you do warrant a mention, albeit in a footnote on page 427.
