The stories I've seen say the ip over electrical lines is not that great. There's also an issue of "jobs" for the meter readers. The reports we've had say they could scale back on the number of meter readers, and move some into other positions, but they would still use them. I agree it could be done

I think trials even went ahead though I don't know of any real cases it may have happened. So if that's the case why not pipe the meter results back that way, never mind a van. Being that in the uk many electricity companies and gas companies do both it could be done easy I would have thought. Allen -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of john harvey That's kind of interesting to note. Here in Memphis they are discussing using utility meters that can be read by a vehicle driving down the street. I want one of those installed on mine and the ability to pull that data. It could be like biofeedback. Knowing how much energy is being consumed on a daily/hourly basis would give you the ability to scale it back. I would stand at the door and hand out light bulbs to each member of my family. Of course, they would have to return them in the morning! -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. It has removed 918 spam emails to date.
