That is correct, according to my experience. Here's a little more detailed information that may be of help. If you do not yet have a Microsoft passport account you need to set one up. You can do that within the www.MSDN.com website. Once you have that set up you need to associate your empower ISV registration code with your passport account. With my most recent ISV account I ended up having to call the Microsoft ISV support telephone number. I was told in the MSDN servers were having problems, had been having problems for the past week, and likely would be fixed within the next day or two. I resisted asking if it had any to do with the impending cut over to Vista. Sure enough, within the next few days everything showed up, and I was able to register my new ISV MSDN software registration number. For the record, I find that Internet Explorer six (and hopefully seven) are the only browsers that work well with the MSDN website. Once you are logged into your MSDN account I believe in the upper right quadrant of the form (it has none change for a while) you will see a box for "my MSDN subscription". The first link in their is labeled "certified partners downloads and product keys". Once you're into the MSDN subscriber download page on the left side you can open up and browse through all the available software, operating systems, etc., and in the top part of the form there is a link labeled "product keys". After left licking the product keys like you see a button labeled "request keys", which you'll likely need to left click on the first time you want to select use to download or view. In the past I would left click drag and selects all other product names and product keys that are retrieved, then copy the data into a text file, or Excel spreadsheet. Now there is an option on the right side of the screen to "export key list to XML", which is another nice way of storing the data on a local machine. It is my understanding, or misunderstanding, that with the Vista operating system under the MSDN license agreement Microsoft is actually monitoring the number of times is installed, and incrementing this serialization number used by each MSDN subscriber. But, if that is the case, these subscriptions are going to have far more limitations as in how often we can utilize the Vista operating system on different machines. I am pretty sure that would include virtual PCs as well as physical machines. Fun fun. Yes, for the record, I am using the Dragon speech to text software to create this e-mail and others. It usually seems to be learning how to interpret what I'm speaking the more I use the software. But, they might in turn is with me, and when I try to show them how well this was working it had quite a few errors. It must be an account of the acoustical characteristics in the room having altered with his presence. Of course I was kidding, but certainly it must somehow be his fault.
