Bill:  That would be a good idea if this were a customer that had an
existing app; kind of like the thread earlier this week regarding someone
else's work.  In this case it is two software developers.  They are not
going to pay me to document specifications, nor are they going to do it
themselves.  There is, however, a user manual for the ultimate user of the
application, but that is not a substitute for technical specifications.

We use Source Safe, so not only is the baseline version cast in stone; any
modifications are also.
