        The gist of all of these is that sloppy usage is eroding the  
distinction between verbal, oral and written, much as the distinction  
between 'use' and 'utilize' is nearly gone.

        In legal terms, which is what was being discussed, the terms are  
still clear, and should not be used interchangeably.
