Okay, maybe it isn't necessary to jump ship just *yet*, but it's only a matter of time...
I know that I'll need to do a rewrite of our MS Access front end app at some point so have been considering other apps/languages lately anyway... I haven't given dabo a fair shakedown yet.. RealBasic looks good but is proprietary... Or maybe python... So I got to thinking that all modern based 'visual' languages are actually written in something like C anyway, so why not go ahead and learn C (or a derivitive of that) i.e. learn one of the base languages... The idea being that there must be libraries out there to do the heavy lifting for interface work as long as one understands the underlying language... Anyone gone down this route already? Matthew S.
