I want to agree, but the last I heard from him was saying something
along the lines of "the investigation stops here". Extremely
disheartening.

I know people want to think the Democrats are the opposition to the
Republicans, and on some important issues they are, but on THIS issue,
the ME crusade, the democratic leadership is in lockstep with the
Republicans - which is why people are so disappointed in the Democrats
after electing them to do something.

The answer to this riddle was provided by the Walt-Mearsheimer study,
but it seems nobody read it.

"The bottom line is that AIPAC, a de facto agent for a foreign
government, has a stranglehold on Congress, with the result that U.S.
policy towards Israel is not debated there, even though that policy has
important consequences for the entire world. In other words, one of the
three main branches of the government is firmly committed to supporting
Israel. As one former Democratic senator, Ernest Hollings, noted on
leaving office, 'you can't have an Israeli policy other than what AIPAC
gives you around here.'"
