We had one of the first UK spec'ed ones back in 2001 as a wedding present from
my late mother.

The gearbox is jerky with the automatic transmission and gearchanges take time
(Though the gearbox has been improved to reduce change time).

Being a short car any potholes speed humps are exaggerated (Again they have
lengthened it a bit).

Boot space is limited but I still got in 12 cases of wine and shopping on a day
trip to France.

Parking is ridiculously simple you can sometimes park end on to the kerb
whereas other cars park side on.

Performance is not fantastic, though the BHP has been improved and there is a
large aftermarket tuning business setup.

If you're in town they are good, if you live in the country.... buy a horse.

This is based on personal experience of driving one and I'm 6 foot 4 and am not
the slightest person in the world at 16 stone.

The main recommendation is to try one before you buy one....

I'll see if we've got any photos of ours so you can do a comparison with the
new ones....

If you can see online the Top Gear review of them and the Brabus version you'll
see what I mean about parking and about the tuning available.
