I believe this is the real meat of the argument rather than what language to use. Since I am self-employed I can choose what works best for me. If I were to go looking for a job, that would be a different matter. When looking for a job - years ago, I looked at what people were using and went to school to learn it. I took COBOL and RPG classes at night. When I landed my first job it was using Basic.
